Fast, Professional and Reassuring Mole Assessment in Ware

Concerns about your skin deserve a proper clinical response — not a rushed GP appointment or an anxious wait. Laura’s dermascopic mole assessment service gives patients across Ware, Hertford, Hoddesdon and Hertfordshire access to a genuinely clinical level of skin lesion evaluation, in a calm and professional environment, with results returned promptly.

Dermatoscopy uses specialist magnification and lighting technology to examine the internal structure of a mole or skin lesion in detail that is simply not possible with the naked eye. It is the gold standard tool for mole assessment in clinical dermatology — and it is available here in Ware, without a referral, without a lengthy wait, and without the anxiety of not knowing.

Step 1
Step 1

Book Your Appointment

Simply book your mole assessment appointment at The Dolphin Medical and Therapy Rooms in Ware. No GP referral is needed and no lengthy wait times. Laura will see you in a fully equipped, professional clinical environment. You can book a single mole assessment or request assessment of up to three moles in one appointment.

Step 2

Dermascopic Imaging

Using specialist dermascopic technology, Laura will capture a detailed, high-resolution image of your mole or skin lesion. The process is entirely painless, non-invasive, and takes just a few minutes. The dermascope illuminates and magnifies the lesion to reveal structural detail — colour variation, border irregularity, and pigment distribution — that the naked eye cannot detect.

Step 3

Expert Dermatology Analysis

Your dermascopic images are assessed against established clinical criteria. A detailed written report is produced, clearly outlining the findings and any recommended next steps. Laura’s clinical background means she is not simply imaging your moles and passing them on — she is assessing them with the knowledge and training to understand what she is looking at.

Results and Next Steps

Results are returned promptly following your appointment. If your assessment identifies anything that warrants further investigation, Laura will explain exactly what has been found and guide you through the appropriate next steps — including providing you with your report to take to your GP for an onward dermatology referral if required. Where no concerns are identified, you will leave with the reassurance of a proper clinical review.

Mole Mapping and Screening FAQs
What is dermascopy and how does it work?

Dermatoscopy is a non-invasive imaging technique that uses a specialist handheld device combining magnification and polarised light to examine the structural detail of a mole or skin lesion beneath the surface of the skin. It allows features that are invisible to the naked eye — such as pigment network patterns, vascular structures, and colour distribution — to be examined in clinical detail. It is the established gold standard tool for mole assessment in dermatology.

Is the assessment painful or invasive?

Not at all. The dermascope is simply held against the skin and an image is captured. The process is entirely painless, takes only a few minutes per mole, and requires no preparation on your part.

Is this a diagnosis?

No. Dermascopic mole assessment is a clinical screening service — it is designed to identify lesions that may warrant further investigation and to provide reassurance where no concerns are present. Laura is not a dermatologist and this service does not replace a formal dermatological diagnosis. Where further investigation is recommended, you will receive a written report to take to your GP to request an onward referral.

How quickly will I receive my results?

Normally within a few days, sometimes less.

How many moles can be assessed in one appointment?

Laura offers assessment of a single mole at £75, or up to three moles in one appointment at £125. If you have more than three moles you would like assessed, please get in touch to discuss options.
